The Kwinana Dance Festival is a community-based festival run by the Koorliny Arts Centre (Festival Administration) which aims to provide a competitive arena for both dancers and schools, in a fair and non-malicious environment. It seeks to aid participants to increase their self-esteem and confidence and promote a sense of fair play. Dancers, teachers, and participants (including parents) must respect each other and the work that they perform.
Foul language and adult themes are not acceptable in any music or choreography, either on or off-stage, during the course of the festival. Canvassing of students by teachers and students from another school will not be condoned. Any participants who, in the opinion of the protest panel, are found to exhibit inappropriate behaviour can, at the discretion of the panel, lose aggregate points, positions, or be disqualified from the festival.
